With the news of Carlos Santana proposing to his drummer girlfriend, Cindy Blackman after a musical performance, there must have been a lot of magic in the air at that moment.
I always love the energy that musicians bring to the stage at their concerts. At one moment, the audience whether standing or seating is waiting patiently for the beat of a drum, or the sound of another musical instrument to indicate the program's right on schedule. The next moment emotions come alive when songs are performed, musicians express themselves, thrilling their audiences with all their creativity and passion as expressed in their performances. Those always register at my deepest being and there goes the chants for "ENCORE!". It is just the power in music to lift the spirit, invigorate the mind and let the imagination run wild. To be contributing to such energy on stage, and the quality of a mesmerizing environment with one's music, and to sooner be the one who gets proposed to in what I call an "on stage proposal" - "Cindy Blackman, Will You Marry Me?" it must have felt like Heaven.
